This weekend was very fun and exciting!
Friday, I went to see a play with my friend Gil. It was interesting. I love small theater! I'm growing more of a passion for it all the time!
I also got my Final Cut Studio Pro 2 on Friday!!!! This is a major milestone in terms of getting ready to film my series of short films!
Saturday I spent trying to get an external hard drive to work on my Airport Express. It wouldn't work, after 3 hours I gave up and took my lil heiney over to the Apple store in Fashion Square mall. I bought an external 320GB hard drive there, took it home hooked it up and poof, it worked instantly :)
I then copied over home movies I took when my Mom was here and moved them to the drive, freeing up TONS of space on my laptop. I was then ready to install my program. It took around 4 hours! (The thing is huge!) and then updated it from the web. It was late Saturday night when I finished, so I popped in the Tutorial DVD and started to learn what it can do. It is truly an amazing product and will take a while and a class or two to master. I am looking forward to it. :)
Sunday, my friend Eric came over. We spent the afternoon shopping for various items for his Halloween costume. What a great costume he has! We then went to Joann's fabrics and bought stuff for my cape.
Afterwards, we went out to dinner then came back to my place and worked on his costume and did our best trying to make the cape. We got a good first draft done, but I need a sewing machine to make it look nice. I don't have one and have no clue how to sew so I asked a friend if she would help. She's very good with home stuff, so she will help us out. That's awesome since not only is this for Halloween but it's also for my series of short films, so it'll be nice to have it look awesome.
Last night, Eric came over with his friend TaMar. She is awesome and we clicked right away. It's always nice to make a new friend. She is writing a script too so we had lots to talk about! :)
On the series front: I already talked about my cape and the editing software...I got a shoe stretcher for my shoes, so they will actually fit when the time comes. :) and Sheldon has been playing with my HD camcorder learning it (as he will be the chief cameraman). His task this week is to film some stuff so I can grab it off the camera and start editing it and playing with Final Cut Pro. Gotta practice!
I am going to try my best to start filming in December. I originally wanted to start in November, but that is approaching very quickly and to do it right, we need a little more time. I actually have a document written up now that (at high level) describes each of the 10 episodes and next year's Holiday special!)
Fabulous!
